NAMM 2020 | Meet Us at Booth 15528

We are exhibiting at the NAMM show in Anaheim, California, in January 2020. If you are there, please make sure to stop by Booth 15528..

We will have a wide range of our broadcast audio solutions available for you to see and experience first-hand. Our broadcast solutions revolve around the same core - the Penta 720 - and they are highly scalable and fits right into post production for broadcast as well as transmission chains.

In fact, we will expand the Penta range at the show, bringing a brand-new product. Please do stay tuned for more detailed info soon!

Bridging the Broadcast Audio Gaps

ntp-sdiThere are many 'gaps' when it comes to joining a wealth of different audio formats in a complex routing system.

Key in broadcast systems is of course the SDI format, and Penta 720 obviously supports this, which enables it to be configured to act as the perfect SDI bridge, connecting to and converting between: SDI-Dante, SDI-MADI and SDI-AES.

Bridging between SDI and Dante is particularly interesting these days with so many broadcasters moving toward IP audio solutions. So, the key features and benefits in this context include:

- Embed/de-embed Dante audio in up to 16 SDI signals
- 64 Dante channels, expandable in steps of 128 channels
- Exchange audio directly between SDI signals
- Support for AES67, MADI and AES
- Support for 3G, HD and SD-SDI
- Optional audio delay up to 128 sec.
- Silence detection and PPM on all inputs and outputs
- Router control, e.g. using ProBel control protocol

As the Penta 720 has a built-in audio router, it is possible to route any incoming audio channel, whether from Dante or SDI, to any output channel, and even to multiple outputs simultaneously. This means you can de-embed audio from an SDI signal and send it out on Dante while simultaneously embedding it into another SDI signal. Or you can take an incoming Dante signal and embed it into any SDI signal, and even to all SDI signals if needed.

No routing limits applied - we want your system to be as flexible as absolutely possible! And to make it even sweeter, we also have a range of dedicated controller units that are tailored for the Penta 720 and Penta 721 units. Add these for easy and swift operation - and you will have a system that is very tough to beat.

Compact Solutions with Penta 721

On the other hand, it is highly portable and it bringing it to different locations at a broadcast facility - and perhaps plug directly into an AoIP network -  would be a breeze.

Needless to say, you can also couple the Penta 721 with the dedicated control panels to make the daily audio broadcast engineering tasks a lot smoother and more efficient.

Facility-wide Solutions

control-roomFinally, you can of course also tailor several units - mixing and matching between Penta 720 and Penta 721 - to establish a complete and facility-wide audio routing and conversion solution, covering post production, editing suites, OB trucks and live broadcast studios in a fully integrated system.

For instance, North-Atlantic broadcaster KvF has taken the initial steps to do exactly that, having already installed Penta 720 units in OB vans and at the main facility. And they remain future-proof, as they can expand the system continuously as needs arise. Please read more about the KvF system in this article...
