NTP Technology will be promoting the latest additions to its range of ultra-high-quality routing systems and AD/DA interfaces at the 16th AES Expo in São Paulo, 8-10 May.
Exhibiting on stand E/2 as part of the Danish Sound Technology Network, NTP Technology will introduce the new Penta 725 IP audio router and DAD AX24 192 PHD eight-channel AD/DA audio converter to Latin American studio operators and music producers as well as television and radio broadcasters. NTP Technology will be represented by Mikael Vest (Sales Director) and Nestor Almeida from regional distributor Stirling do Brasil.
Penta 725 IP compact audio router
NTP Technology's Penta 725 IP compact audio router allows city-wide, country-wide or global routing of high quality audio over low-cost Gigabit IP based Ethernet lines. It delivers the additional benefit of being easier to use than traditional leased-telco-line systems because it is fully controllable via NTP Technology's intuitive VMC software.
The Penta 725 IP router has a capacity of 1024 x 1024 crosspoints and can accommodate 64 bi-directional channels via IP. It can also be populated to handle 64 AES3 input/output channels, six optical MADI channels and optional sampling-rate converters interfaces. The Penta 725 IP is equipped with an auxiliary power supply. An auxiliary IP Matrix core module is optional.
IP audio entering or leaving the Penta 725 IP router can be interfaced on a PC platform by using a dedicated Ethernet sound card or its virtual equivalent. NTP Technology’s VMC control software is employed to select a monitor source which can be made directly available for high-quality/low-latency monitoring.
The router incorporates standard time-division multiplex routing plus the ability to interface audio between AES3 and AES10 (MADI). All switching on the IP network is controlled via the NTP Technology RCCore router control system. Connections are managed by the VMC control surface. Changes can be made dynamically to match programme schedules.
Penta 725 IP systems can be combined to handle a total of 512 channels on a 1 gigabit/s network. Larger systems can be integrated where greater network capacity is available. Each audio channel can be deployed as router input/output connections or to connect with extra Penta 725 IP units.
NTP DAD AX24 192 PHD eight-channel AD/DA audio converter
NTP Technology's DAD AX24 192 PHD is an eight-channel ultra-high-quality AD/DA audio converter. Designed for high quality music recording as well as mastering and monitoring in DSD, it offers A/D and D/A conversion in PCM at up to 384 kHz sampling rate, including DSD at 64 frame/s or 128 frame/s and 352.8 kHz DXD. It can be connected directly to Avid Pro Tools digital audio workstations.
The DAD AX24 192 PHD is designed for use where the highest possible recording quality is needed. Its optional microphone preamplifier incorporates analogue gain in 3 dB steps as well as digital gain with 0.25 dB precision. Dynamic range is between 118 and 121 dB and the preamp equivalent noise floor is -130 dB. This makes the DAD AX24 192 PHD the world's most transparent microphone preamplifier with integral analog to digital conversion.
Available with eight analog inputs or eight analog outputs channels, or both, the DAD AX24 192 PHD is operated via the DADman control application which runs on Apple Mac OS X and Microsoft Windows. The DADman application is capable of handling 128 channels and can be automated from Avid Pro Tools, emulating the Avid Pro Tools PRE, or via EuCon for operation from the Euphonix MC-Pro and 5-MC hardware controllers.
The AX24 192 PHD is fully remote controllable via RS-422, USB or Ethernet. Preamp parameters can be represented on the channel strip of industry-standard audio production consoles and workstations
